Seven years ago today, I left my house in the Bronx to go to my job at a software development company in White Plains, NY. On the way in, I stopped for coffee. Some homeless-looking dude came past me on the street saying, “They flew a plane into the WTC”. I thought he was nuts. When I got to work, it was eerily silent. Everyone was watching cnn.com show the clips of the first and then the second attack.
I didn’t lose family or close friends, but we had customers in the Towers who didn’t make it out. Blessings and peace to those who lost their lives; to those injured physically, mentally and emotionally; to the people who lost their livelihood; and to the family, friends and communities who bear the burden still.

Hi, I found your blog on this new directory of WordPress Blogs at blackhatbootcamp.com/listofwordpressblogs. I dont know how your blog came up, must have been a typo, i duno. Anyways, I just clicked it and here I am. Your blog looks good. Have a nice day. James.
I was at work and a friend told me about it, almost as if he didn’t believe it himself. I gathered more information online and couldn’t believe it. Still seems unreal.

On this day I was scheduled to go to work. I woke up and got online, as soon as my g’father saw me, he told me to turn on the tv. As I did, the camera showed the first tower filling with smoke, and I nearly cried. By the time the second tower was hit I was dialing my mom’s phone number, in Mt. Vernon, NY. She told me my sister, then 8m pregnant w/ twins, was in the city for an ultrasound. The towers crashed and I called mom back asking her if she had heard from my sister. No one did until she finally made it back home, confused about what was going on, at 12p or so. I was in a panic until we heard from her.
My brother rescheduled his interview for a job the day before. He would have been in tower 1 by the time it came down. He is in the Navy now.
I wasn’t home, and this was very hard for me, I can’t even imagine what it was like that day in NYC or DC.
